Digital ID is not about convenience, it is about control. If adopted, governments & institutions will only recognise you through this system. In order to access any services or resources, you will need a QR code (single identifier), which could be restricted or even denied if digital systems fail or your ‘social credit score’ is insufficient. Currently, paper documents and passports are a safer option. The linchpin for ushering in this technological control requires the latest generation technology (5G), which enables biometric scanning and backhauling of data.
